 Student Selection Process

WHAT TO EXPECT

Because my teaching philosophy and style are different from those of a typical piano studio, my teaching will help and be suitable for those students and families who share my philosophy. My teaching includes so much more than just pianistic skills, and requires me to be more active and involved in a student’s overall emotional and mental growth outside of music. I am providing this teaching to a very limited number of students who are eager to embark on a lasting journey of musical and personal transformation.

Here is what you can expect after submitting an application:

  1. I will have a conversation with the parent(s) via phone regarding their thoughts on musical education and what they seek in a teacher.

  2. We will set up an in-person interview, audition, and 30-minute trial lesson (free of charge). This is to see if I would be the right teacher for the student and NOT to evaluate the student’s skills. It is also a chance for parents and student to see if we would be a right fit.

  3. I will be sending feedback/comments via email to all students who audition along with my thoughts as to whether or not I am the right teacher for the student. Based on the audition, I would also be happy to recommend a list of others teachers.

  4. After reviewing my comments, the parents and student can decide whether or not to join my studio.
